Meet Cheryl Gyant
Keynote Speaker & Author
Within my work as a keynote speaker and author I strive to give a voice to foster children and empower adults to work effectively with them.
Teaching adults how to empathize with their unique experiences and needs, be patient and nurturing, involve them in decisions, and provide opportunities for them to explore their interests and abilities is at the heart of my work.
This is the key to their success and reaching their full potential.
I motivate people to be the light for a better future by prioritizing children's well-being
As a former foster child, my life’s mission is to advocate for the care and success of children in the foster care system.
In my beginning, my childhood was saved by a loving and stable foster home that adopted me into their family. Unfortunately, my teenaged biological mother who became a ward of the state of Michigan, never got the chance to achieve the same success.
My name is Cheryl Gyant, and I wrote the story, A Letter from Sheri which documents the harrowing story of my mother’s life told from her perspective.
A letter from Sheri
A Letter from Sheri is a story inspired by the 1986 California serial killer murders executed by Charles Ng and Leonard Lake.
As a child, I was led to believe that my biological mother was murdered by my biological father. When I was a teenager, I dove deep into a seemingly endless search that spanned a decade, searching for answers.
After learning everything through my mother’s letter, my biological father, and my adoption files, I finally concluded that she never had a voice or a chance in life. My attempt to become her voice gave way to a passion to tell a whole new story.
An engaging Keynote Speaker Experience that your Audience can use for a lifetime
My goal is to inspire adults to advocate for children by sharing real-life stories and experiences from my perspective.
By hearing about the challenges and obstacles that children face, I hope to create a deeper understanding of their needs and encourage adults to take action to support them.
Through my storytelling, I aim to motivate and empower adults to make a difference in the lives of children who need their help.
